Another reason not to use captive portals

Another reason not to use captive portals

I’m already convinced but if you needed another reason not to use captive portals, I’ve found one.

Did you know that when you’re not near your iPhone your Apple Watch will try to connect to previously connected WiFi networks? Did you know that you can also manually connect to unknown networks from your Apple Watch? You can if they don’t use a captive portal. If they do, you can’t!

Connecting is a bit of a faff but it can be done. The main thing is that you have to use the ‘scribble’ function to type in the password. It’s useful if you’ve left your phone on the car and you still want to keep up to date on Twitter… (I use ‘Chirp for Twitter’).
